Open Letter for Membership Renewal

Comrade Post Member (or your first name here),

amerlegion

It has come to my attention that you have not renewed your 2015 American Legion membership. Hopefully, this has only been an over site. Post member, you have been a member for over # (number) of years. I would like to remind you every membership is important to our Post here in Merrick, as well as, for the nation.

Membership supports our Post to help our comrades. We here at the Merrick Post 1282, make visits with gifts and supplies to the many veterans at the nursing home at Stony Brook and the nursing home in Northport. We support many civil groups, including Boys and Girls Scout troops.

We speak to Legislative leaders and they listen to us because of the number of members we have in the American Legion. We need them to help our Veterans.

So please send in your dues as soon as possible. Send dues in the amount of $35.00 for the year. A self addressed, stamped envelope has been enclosed.

Yours for the good of the Legion

Kenneth J. Braun, Post Commander

Note: The following letter is a letter from Commander Ken Bruan to a post member about membership renewal. I was so moved by the letter, that I wanted to reprint it here, and make it out to any Post Member who has not yet renewed his/her membership in the American Legion.
